Hey there, my name is Tobias Davis. 👋
If you spend time designing architecture for serverless applications, you'll probably find (like I did) that most of the big cloud providers have more services than you can keep track of. I've heard plenty of jokes about how AWS has so many services, they can't even count them!
You want to design your systems well, but you don't want to spend a week comparing every service, you don't want to spend a month validating that your design fits the providers constraints, and you don't want to spend a full day every week just trying to keep up with every service change.
Although Cloudflare has fewer services than AWS, the number of them keeps increasing, and it's not always clear which of them are production ready.
Introducing Plainflare.
After wasting many days comparing Cloudflare services, only to realize that some of them were still in beta, I decided to start my own list of production-ready services.
Services that I (or other engineers I know personally) have used in production systems, and found to be rock solid.
That's what this site is! Good services, good documentation.
Here is my promise to you:
- I won't recommend a service from Cloudflare without having validated it in production.
- I will never accept financial compensation from Cloudflare--these are my choices represented here, not theirs.
I'm hoping that you'll find these resources useful!
The site is still coming together, as I curate my notes from personal research and production systems, so if you want to follow along, subscribe to the newsletter!
